I have been working as a as a lecturer in the Faculty of Pharmacy UBAYA and medicines information pharmacist in the Centre for Medicines Information and Pharmaceutical Care (CMIPC) University of Surabaya (UBAYA) since 2006. I obtained a PhD from the University of Queensland under the supervision of Prof. Jason Roberts. The goal of my PhD project is to bring a better understanding about how to initiate an antimicrobials stewardship program (ASP) in the limited-resources settings and how to adjust the dose of commonly used of antimicrobials according to the pharmacokinetics profile of Indonesian hospitalised patients. In term of research, I like tackling questions that are relevant to optimise the responsible use of medicines, more specifically antimicrobials among special group of patients (including paediatric, geriatric and ICU patients), in both community and clinical settings. It, therefore, my research activities range from evaluating the use of medicines, exploring how health care professionals and patients make decisions about what and whether to utilise the medicines, designing and evaluating the health intervention programs, and optimising the dose of medicines (by implementing a clinical simulation strategy, i.e: pharmacokineticspharmacodynamics modelling and simulation). In addition to my routine work as an academic in UBAYA, I served as the member of Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee in one private hospital in Surabaya and also member of research committee of Indonesian Pharmacists Association East Java Province.
